Saved keywords and tags
Saved keywords are the list the rest of a project works from. Tag them to group them, refresh their volume and difficulty when the market moves, and export the list as CSV.
Saved keywords is the project’s own list of keywords. Rank trackers add keywords from it, and the assistant reads it when it plans work.
Add and remove keywords
Keywords arrive from Keyword research: select rows there and save them. Each saved keyword keeps the volume, difficulty, cost per click and intent it was saved with.
To remove keywords, select them and choose Stop following. They leave the project’s saved list and their tags go with them; saving one again later brings it back untagged.
Each plan caps saved keywords per project: 1,000 on Pro, 2,500 on Studio and 5,000 on Agency.
Read the list
The figures above the table cover every saved keyword: combined monthly volume, average difficulty and how many tags are in use. The table sorts by keyword, volume or difficulty, and the tag filter narrows it to one tag.
Tags
A tag is a name of up to 60 characters and one of eight colours. Use tags to
split a list by topic, funnel stage or page, for example pricing or
blog: guides.
- Manage tags creates, renames, recolours and deletes tags.
- Select rows and choose the tag action to tag many keywords at once.
- Deleting a tag removes it from every keyword; the keywords stay.
Refresh metrics
Search volume and difficulty move. Refresh metrics looks up every saved keyword in the project’s current market again, in one lookup, and the button states its price before you press it:
| Market | Price |
|---|---|
| A country with full keyword data | 120 credits per refresh plus 1.2 per keyword |
| One of the 49 countries without difficulty and intent | 900 credits per refresh, whatever the count |
Only keywords saved in the project’s current market are refreshed. A keyword the data vendor returns nothing for keeps the figures it had.
Export
Export CSV downloads every saved keyword with these columns: keyword,
location_code, language_code, search_volume, keyword_difficulty, cpc,
competition, intent and tags. A keyword’s tags share one cell, separated by
commas, so a cell pasted into the tag field adds the same tags. Export also works
on an archived project; refreshing and tagging do not.
