# Team and roles

> Invite people to a netweft workspace as owner, admin or member, see what each role can do, and read the workspace's audit log.

**A workspace has three roles. Members read everything and work in projects; admins also manage projects, billing, keys and people; owners can do all of that and hand out the owner role.**

A workspace holds projects, credits, the plan and the team. Everyone in it
shares the same credits and the same plan.

## Roles

| | Owner | Admin | Member |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Read every project, audit, keyword and ranking | yes | yes | yes |
| Run lookups, audits and rank checks; use the assistant | yes | yes | yes |
| Read billing and the credit balance | yes | yes | yes |
| Create, edit, archive and restore projects | yes | yes | no |
| Edit project context and Google connections | yes | yes | no |
| Change plan, buy credits, set auto top-up | yes | yes | no |
| Create, revoke and delete API keys | yes | yes | no |
| Invite and remove people, change roles | yes | yes | no |
| Read the audit log | yes | yes | no |
| Make someone an owner | yes | no | no |

Two rules sit on top of the table:

- **Acting on someone needs a higher role.** An admin can change or remove a
member but not another admin, and nobody acts on a peer.
- **A workspace always keeps an owner.** The last owner cannot be removed,
demoted or erased until another owner exists.

## Invite someone

On **Settings**, open **Team** and choose **Invite someone**. Enter an email
address and a role. netweft emails an invitation that names the workspace and
who sent it; the link opens a page to accept it after signing in with that
address. Owners can invite owners, admins and members; admins can invite
members.

Invitations not yet accepted are listed under **Pending invitations**, where
they can be cancelled. A workspace holds up to 99 people.

## Remove someone

Removing a person ends their access to the workspace at once. Anything they
created stays, and they can be invited back.

## The audit log

**Audit log** on **Settings** lists who did what and when: plan changes,
top-ups, auto top-up settings, API keys, invitations, role changes, Google
connections and project changes. Owners and admins read it.

## Erase your account

**Account** on **Settings** erases your account, your sessions and everything
only you hold, after you type `ERASE` to confirm. It cannot be undone. If you
are the only owner of a workspace, make someone else an owner first.
